Mother’s Day Amethyst Mimosa
This Mother’s Day, I spent most of the weekend gardening, so I was all about a quiet, laid back Mother’s Day morning. Ben and the girls made me a beautiful garden stone with their teeny tiny hand prints and I think we’ve started a new tradition. I was so touched by the creativity and the seriousness that my two oldest took to the project, knowing how much it meant to their mom. I’m sure it was quite the endeavor for my husband to wrangle three squirming girls, but he did it magnificently and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I can’t wait to add a new stone with their growing handprints each year!
I loved all the handmade gifts from my girls. In addition to the garden stone, I got hand and foot print art from Evie and Ella’s daycare, and a potted plant from Brynna. All this momma love is giving me all the feels!
Like most moms however, we never get a day off, even on our special day. (For the record, neither did Ben.) While he went grocery shopping for the upcoming week, I put the girls down for their nap and then started on lunches for the next several days. I was pleasantly surprised to get done much sooner than expected. I had an hour before my little bees woke up and a half hour before the laundry was done. What’s a mom to do…?
The sun was shining on my deck and the comfy outdoor couch was calling my name. All I needed was a delicious mimosa to make the moment perfect. I didn’t have orange juice, but that won’t stop this industrious momma! I had cranberry juice and Blue Curacao, plus a little bottle of Brut champagne. The end result was an amethyst dream that was tart, sweet, and perfect for sipping in this perfect spring weather. Stealing a couple of minutes to myself was priceless and the purple mimosa made it extra special.
Amethyst Dream Mimosa
Ingredients
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- 1 ½ oz Blue Curacao
- 1 cup Champagne or sparkling moscato
Instructions
- Add cranberry juice and Blue Curacao to champagne flutes. Top with chilled champagne.
- Serve immediately.
